Mrs. Cuypers, School Counselor
I am so excited to start off this school year as the new school counselor and get to know you and your students! I hope this year is a blast, and I look forward to seeing you!
Below, you will information about our school counseling program.
What does the School Counselor do?
The counseling program is intended to help students be successful in school. I work with parents and students in order to help all students learn and be successful. I go into every classroom once a week to teach a guidance lesson. Topics can include friendships, understanding feelings and behaviors, how to be successful academically, career exploration, and much more. I also work with students one-on-one or in small groups. Some small groups can focus on anger management, friendships, behavior, self-esteem or study skills.
Character Counts at Tioga!
The Tioga School District is a "Character Counts" school where we focus on the six pillars of character:
Respect Caring Fairness
Responsibility Citizenship Trustworthiness
We focus on one pillar each month during the year, starting in October.
