Hello Tioga High School parents and guardians and welcome to a new school year!
I am asking each student in Art I-IV to obtain their own basic supplies, store them in their locker throughout the year, and transport them to and from class each day. My intent is to promote both responsible use of materials and forward-thinking in terms of preparedness.
Everyone received the following list in class today and we discussed the different brush and palette options. If you are able, please help your art student acquire these supplies within the next week or two. Tioga Drug has some, but if you’re looking for a one-stop-shop with decent prices, Wal-Mart or Amazon would work. Hobby Lobby in Minot is another option. SUPPLY LIST for Art I-IV
- 5 or 6 synthetic brushes, assorted tips/sizes - Taklon is a good choice.
--- A good mix would be ---
~ 3 round - from sizes 1, 2, 6, 8, 10, or 12
~ 1 liner - size 1 or 2 (if getting a size 1 liner, I’d start with a size 2 round)
~ 1 flat wash - ¾” or 1”
~ 1 angled shader - ½” (if adding a 6th brush)
- Palette with lid (optional, but necessary if wanting to store paint from day to day) ***A small/medium sized Ziploc food storage container that has a good seal would work well for this!
- Sketchbook OR folder
- #2 Pencils
- Fine Point Sharpie
- Extra-fine Point Sharpie
- Storage bag or container for materials
- School-issued Chromebook (charged or with charger)
*Some of these materials will be provided to students, if necessary. Other materials will be available for students to sign out, if necessary, with no fee up front; students will be expected to return these materials in good, reasonable condition by the end of the school year to avoid charges. (Condition will be determined by teacher)

Central Picture Day Info!
Central Open House
Wednesday, August 16th from 3-6 pm!
The Athletic Complex construction project is nearing completion and looking great. However, it is not done yet. It is still an active construction zone and for liability and safety reasons, people are asked to please stay out of the construction zone while it is still a work in progress.

Cross Country will have their first pracfice August 14th at 4pm. Please meet at the lunchroom doors by the high school. if you have any questions, please contact Coach Feiring at 641-6857.
High School Volleyball (grades 9-12) will start practice August 14 @ 4:00pm in the HS gym. There will be a parent/athlete meeting following at 6:30pm.
Tioga High School registration will be today (8/1) and tomorrow (8/2) from 8:30-4:30 (Closed for lunch 12-1). All returning students can complete their registration online on their PowerSchool Account https://tioga.ps.state.nd.us/. If you need help accessing your PowerSchool account please email Jayme at jayme.jorstad@k12.nd.us or stop in or call during registration.
During registration we would like grades 9-12 students to come and check out their Chromebooks for the school year. Also at that time if students need or want to make schedule changes please stop in and speak with Mr. Odegaard.
9-12 football players, remember that you have a meeting tonight at 7pm. Please bring your physical forms tonight. Also, you will be receiving your equipment tonight.
