August 8, 2025 Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students: Starting this fall, Tioga Schools will be following the new state statute and newly adopted electronic communication devices policy. In accordance with North Dakota House Bill 1160 and Governing Board Policy FFI, all personal electronic devices (i.e., cell phones, Smartwatches, Ipods, and Airpods) are to be stored in their locker if brought into the school building. Specifically, students are to have their cell phones in their locker, if brought into the school, from the start of the school day until the end of the school day. If students leave during the day, they are allowed to take their cell phones (electronic devices) with them. Consequences for not following state statute and board policy are listed in the student handbook. Medical exceptions will be made for students who need access to devices for health-related reasons, such as checking blood sugar. House Bill 1160 is a proactive step in creating stronger learning environments in schools, and your support as we roll out this change in the upcoming school year is much appreciated and valued. Attention!! Due to a glitch with PowerSchool, anyone who filled out registration forms online on August 5th between the time of 9:00 am to 1:00 pm you will have to go back and fill them out again. This applies to all K-12 students. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Attention Pirate Football Players (Grades 9–12):
We will have a quick meeting tonight to issue equipment, collect physicals, and go over a few details for our first practice on Thursday, August 7th at 8:00 AM. We will meet in the weight room. Come in the concession door or doors by locker room.
As we transition to the 11-man game, we need as many athletes as possible. Football is a game of numbers, and every player counts. This season, we’ll have a full JV and Varsity schedule—more opportunities for everyone to compete and contribute.
Come be a part of something bigger. Whether your main sport is basketball, wrestling, baseball, or track, football will help you grow as a stronger, more competitive athlete.
