Many schools have been posting about free meals for students. The USDA has re-started the Summer Program which means all students will eat for free. Tioga will participate with free breakfast and lunch for K-12 students. Details are unclear as to how far back we can go in giving free meals and how long the program will be in effect. Right now, it is due to expire in December or when the money runs out, whichever is first. It seems that now all meals for K-12 students are free so please share this with others. More information will be available when we receive it.
Distance learning students will be able to participate starting on Tuesday, September 8. We ask that you call the school to get signed up, and we will run it as we did in the spring and summer. The time for pickup may change, and we will be giving out information next week about this. Right now, we are NOT serving any preschool or homeschooled children. Thank you. No school on Monday.
The football game at DLB will be played in Des Lacs. As of now there are no restrictions in place. They are encouraging social distancing and masks but masks are not required.

The Lady Pirate's Volleyball team will have their home opener tonight against the Ray Jays. JH matches begin at 3:00 to be followed by C squad, JV, and Varsity matches.
We do have a capacity of 500 people including players, coaches, officials, etc. in the gym. We ask fans for their cooperation in trying to maintain social distancing and general health standards. If you are ill, please stay home. If we need to make room for parents to be able to attend the JV/Varsity matches, those that were present to watch JH matches would be very supportive in exiting to allow the same for varsity parents.
There will not be kitchen concessions served. The Letterpersons' pop, popcorn, and candy concessions will be open.

Pirates win 28-8 over Stanley tonight. Good job tonight!!!
The football field is in great shape and along with coaches and players, we are ready for a Monday Night Football double header with Stanley High School on Monday, August 31st.
The JH game will begin at 5:00 as scheduled. There will not be a JV game. And the varsity game will begin sometime around 7:00-7:30 depending on when the JH game completes. The varsity players will not be able to work the JH game as they normally would so we may be looking for some help with the chains for the JH game. Maybe some JH football dads would like to help us out there?
Both games will be broadcast on the NFHS network. To watch the games, please go to https://www.nfhsnetwork.com . In the search bar at the top of the page, search for Tioga High School - Tioga, ND. This will bring you to our dashboard where you will be able to find all events throughout the year. It is unclear right now if we will be able to forgo the subscription procedure as used last year.
We all wish we were able to see both teams at full strength. To those players not able to participate, we are thinking about you and will continue to work for you! We know you are hurt and frustrated, and we will continue to fight to get a full season in for you to come back to!

The Tioga Schools had a student test positive for COVID-19 on Friday, August 28. Cleaning has since been completed, and the infected person is following North Dakota Health guidelines concerning isolation and is not in school now. The school had been in contact with the ND Department of Health and following their guidelines. We have been advised that we can continue school. Continue to take your child's temperature twice a day and monitor for other symptomes. Take care! Thank you for your support.

Upcoming attendance policies for games:
@ New Salem-Almont: As of Friday morning all fans are welcomed
8/28 FB vs Stanley- State max is 500 people . Please make sure to do proper social distance. Concessions will be available.
9/3 VB vs Ray- Max attendance inside our gym is 500 people. This includes players, coaches, officials and stats. With this day including JH, C, JV and Varsity games attendance could be reached. We may need to ask for cooperation in staying within state guidelines. Only basic concession stand products will be available.
Two other notes of interest: 1 is that we have moved up Senior/Parent nights to 8/28 and 9/10. Number 2 is that other schools have different policies for attendance according to their gym sizes and school board decisions. As a heads up if the state goes into the "yellow" category attendance numbers will be dropped to 250.

Central Parents/Guardians,
Safety of all our students and staff are of paramount concern to the school district, and we take it very seriously. As we enter into this school year, we require your assistance to ensure the safety of all students. Please note the following and adhere to the procedures that are in place to protect the safety of students.
Students may not be dropped off before 8:10am. Aides will be at doors. Once in the building students will go to their classroom. Breakfast will be a grab and go.
We will not be having morning recess on the playground before school.
When dropping off or picking up your child, make sure to park your vehicle and do not wait in the middle of the road.
Best door to drop off your students because it is closest to their lockers:
Door #1 for students in grades 5th-6th
Door #2 for students in grades 3rd-4th
Door #8 for students in Kindergarten and 2nd
Door #7 for students in 1st grade
The front of Central (Benson Street) is a drop off area only. You may not park where signs are located, just a drop-off.
Do not make U-turns in front of Central During School Hours of 8:10am to 3:45pm. (This is the busiest time for students to be dropped off or picked up.)
Parents/Guardians may not be in the building before school. With the new guidelines from the CDC we will only have staff/students in the building.
Exceptions: you may come into the office area.
Parents must sign in (if late) or sign out your child (if they must leave early). You are required to wait in the office area, until your child has walked to the office.
We will not be letting parents/guardians/visitors eat at school this year.
Students need to be picked up dismissal time which is 3:30pm. If you are not here by 3:45pm they will in the office.
If you are going to change your child’s dismissal procedure you must contact the school before 3pm. Pick-up/dismissal procedure will stay the same:
Bus students will get on busses.
K-2 will be picked up on the playground. Parents please park on Main Street. Visit with teachers on other arrangements.
Grades 3-4 will dismiss out door #2. Visit with teachers on other arrangements
Grades 5-6 will dismiss out door #1. Visit with teachers on other arrangements.
