Last March, Governor Burgum closed schools for in-person instruction due to concerns about COVID-19. He directed schools to serve their students via distance learning “until further notice”.
Educators have been in frequent contact with the ND Department of Public Instruction(DPI) and the Governor’s Office trying to find out what schools will be allowed to do in August.
• At this time, we do not know if students will be allowed to return.
• If students are allowed to return, will class-size caps and social distancing guidelines be in place?
• If so, will that force us to limit the number of students who can attend school each day?
• Will schools still have the authority to offer distance learning classes to our students who have been identified as high risk by a medical-professional?
It is our hope that the Guidelines we need to follow will be released by mid-July; however, at an online meeting that was held today, DPI stated schools may not have guidance until the end of July. While the principals and I have been discussing potential scenarios, we need to wait until those guidelines are released. We will share the educational plan for this fall as soon as we know what our options are.
We know how difficult this uncertainty is for many of you. It is frustrating for us, too! Rest assured that as soon as we have guidance from the state, we will communicate our plan. If you have specific questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Carolyn Eide, Superintendent, at (701) 664-2333. Thank you for your understanding-I'm afraid it is a new era.

There will be NO volleyball open gym tonight. Sorry for the last minute change.
See you NEXT Wednesday at 6pm.

With great disappointment, Prom and the Awards Banquet for 19-20 are CANCELLED. With restrictions still in place as of June 15 and planning for very difficult schedule purposes, it is in our best interest to make the hard call. Students - we are very sorry! This is not the outcome we want either.
Awards for graduates will be gathered and delivered. Underclassman awards will be collected for a fall delivery.

Starting Monday, June 1, Tioga Schools can start with sports' activities in the building. These will operate very differently than in past years. Read the attached guidelines carefully. Everything is subject to change at any time.

THS Students - If you have not completed your pre-registration for 20/21 yet, please do so. The directions came in your piratek12 email. If you are looking at alternative course work (dual credit, NDCDE, etc), please email Mr. Odegaard.
Graduates - If you are looking to return your cap and gown for your deposit, please stop at the school between 7:30-3:00. Anybody still looking for items from the locker rooms or needing to return school materials (books, Chromebooks and charge cords) those times work as well.
Enjoy life! Love summer! Be safe!
